GP REGISTRARS AND MEDICAL STUDENTS
Our practice is a training practice involved in teaching medical students.
We also have qualified doctors, GP registrars, who are training in general
practice and working with us for 6 or 12 months. They are learning general
practice and always have a lot to offer us from their recent hospital
experience. You will therefore see new faces at the practice and sometimes
another doctor sitting in with your own GP. If a doctor is teaching and you
wish to see your doctor alone this will be arranged.

PRACTICE MANAGER
• Martin Rowlatt BSc (Hons) PG Dip App Comp
The
practice manager looks after the day-to-day management of the practice. He is
available to discuss any complaints that have not been satisfied with the
reception manager.

Reception Manager
• Julie Hill
The reception manager looks after the day-to-day running of the reception and
its staff and is always available to discuss any concerns or ideas with
patients.

RECEPTIONISTS
Our receptionists are approachable and are able to answer many of your queries.
They will act as a link between you and other members of the team. If you are in
doubt about anything please ask a receptionist for help. Our staff always aim to
be courteous and to facilitate the smooth running of the practice.

NURSE PRACTITIONER
• Carol Pape RGN, PGDip, MSc
A nurse practitioner is an experienced nurse who has undergone further training
at degree level. Through a formal education programme, the nurse practitioner
acquires the knowledge and clinical skills to enable her to treat a wide variety
of health problems in much the same way as a doctor would do. She is also able
to prescribe medication and refer to the hospital if required.
Carol is available:
Monday – Friday from 8:40am – 11:50 am and 1pm – 3 pm for same day and
pre-bookable appointments.

PRACTICE NURSES
- Mrs Siobain Kemple RGN
- Mrs Rosie Graham RGN
- Mrs Julie Buchan RGN
- Mrs Jayne Wake RGN
Our practice nurses are available by appointment. They look after much of
the ongoing (chronic) illness such as:
| Asthma |
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease |
|
| Diabetes |
Hypertension (high blood pressure) |
|
| Heart disease |
|
|
| |
|
|
| as well as offering: |
|
| |
|
|
| Travel medicine |
Dressing/removal of stitches |
|
| Ear syringing |
Cervical smears |
|
| Well person checks/lifestyle advice
|
|
It may therefore be more appropriate to see the nurse rather than the
doctor. Please ask the receptionists if you are not sure. The practice
nurses are available between 8.30am and 6.15pm Monday to Friday.
